Packers 13 - 0 Still Undefeated

Last weekend the Packers played the Oakland Raiders.  They easily won fourty-six to sixteen.  The game was pretty much over at half time, with the Packers winning thirty-one to zip.
During the game, Aaron Rodgers threw for 281 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The Raiders' quarterback threw for 245 yards and 1 touchdown.  Aaron Rodgers also had one iterception, but Carson Palmer(Raiders quarterback) had four!
The Green Bay Packer's wide recievers Jordy Nelson and Donald Driver also had good games -  Nelson with 81 yards and Driver with 75.  Jordy Nelson also caught a 37 yard pass from Aaron Rodgers for a touchdown in the second quarter.  Another big touchdown was scored in the third quarter, when Erik Walden had a five yard fumble return after a kick was blocked.
The main rusher for this week's game was Ryan Grant.  He rushed for 85 yards and had two touchdowns, one in the first quarter and one in the second quarter.
Although this was a good win for The Pack, there were some down sides - a minor one being that the Packers let the Raiders score from a safety and another touchdown at the end during the fourth quarter.  Another let down was that Gregg Jennings, one of the Packer's wide recievers injured his knee and won't be back until a couple of weeks.  Hopefully this will not slow the Packers down.

Upcoming Game - Packers vs. Raiders

This Sunday, the Green Bay Packers will be playing the Oakland Raiders at 3:15.  The Packers are currently 12-0 and the Raiders are 7-5.  On Sunday, the Packers will return to play on their home field (Lambeau Field) after having played back-to-back road games.  This game is the first meeting between the two teams since 2007.
This past Sunday, Green Bay clinched the NFC North with its win over the New York Giants and Detroit’s loss at New Orleans.  This marked the first division title for Green Bay since 2007.  If the Packers defeat the Raiders this weekend then they can clinch a first-round bye in the playoffs.102
Though the Packers are 12-0, their defense is last in the league in yards allowed, meaning that they allow more yards than any other team.  While heading into the playoffs, their defense will have to improve in order to make a successful run to another Super Bowl.  This game is an important game to win in order to get a strong start into the playoffs.
All together, this up comming game should be pretty exciting to watch, with it being the Packers' first home game in the past two weeks.  Hopefully the Packers will have a victory over the Raiders and don't forget to watch it! GO PACK!

Could the Packers win Super Bowl XLVI?

Many people are debating on whether or not the Green Bay packers could win the Super Bowl two years in a row.  So far this year they are the only team that is undefeated, currently with a 12-0 record.  They also have lots of strong players, including Clay Matthews, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and Aaron Rodgers.
With the way they have been playing lately, it is very possible that they could win the Super Bowl.  If they get to play in it, they would be playing one of the other NFL teams, which all of them have already lost at least once.  So, the Packers would be playing a team that had already lost to them or a team that they had already beat, so logically it proves that the Packers are the stronger team.
Second of all, the Packers have one of the top three ranked quarter backs in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers.  He is very skilled and has great passing abilities.  He has the league's lowest career pass interception percentage for quarterbacks during the regular season and knows how to make quick, smart decisions while under pressure.
I think that if the Packers keep on playing how they're playing now, then they will defiantly go to the Super Bowl with a good chance of winning it.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is currently the quarter back for the Green Bay Packers.  He was the twenty-fourth player selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.  He went from being thought of as not very good to being ranked one of the best quarterbacks of all time.  He also had the pressure to come and try to "replace" the Packers' previous quarter back, Brett Favre.  Rodgers did a great job of doing that role and didn't let the Packer's fans down.
Aaron Rodgers was born on December 2, 1983 in Chico, California.  He went to highschool at Pleasant Valley High School and played on their foot ball team as quarterback.  For his first year of college, he was recruited to Butte Community college where he lead them to finish in a 10-1 record.  Then he went to the University of California Berkely and played for the California Golden Eagles for three years.
Aaron Rodgers has been on the team since 2005, but from 2005 to 2007 he was their back up quarter back.  Then, when Brett Favre announced his retirement on March 4, 2008, that opened up the Packer's starting quarter back postion to Aaron Rodgers for the 2008 season.  He has done many great things for the Packers since his starting season.  In 2010, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers won the Super Bowl.  Rodgers also owns the league's lowest career pass interception percentage for quarterbacks during the regular season, which is 1.82%.  Over all he is a great quarterback that will hopefully play for the Packers for many years to come.

Brett Favre

Brett Favre was a great quarterback who played for the Packers from 1992 to 2007.  He had many great accomplishments such as going to the Super Bowl with the Packers for Super Bowl XXXI and Super Bowl XXXII, and winning Super Bowl XXXI. He also is the only player to win the AP Most Valuable Player three consecutive times, which was in 1995, 1996, and 1997.  He has led his teams to eight division championships as well.  He won the NFC Player of the year five times, and was the NFC Champion two times.
In his early years, he played football for his high school, Hancock North Central.  There her played as  quarterback, lineman, strong safety, placekicker and punter.  For college, he went to Southern Miss and played quarterback for the Golden Eagles.  During his senior year there, he was in a near-fatal car accident where he lost control of his car, flipped three times and crashed into a tree. In order to play again, he had to get 30 inches of his small intestine removed.
For his first year as a professional in 1991, he played for the Atlanta Falcons.  Then, he switched to the Green Bay Packers in 1992 and played there up until 2007.  During those years, he was known as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.  He lead the Packers to a Super Bowl victory in 1997. After playing for the Packers untill he was years 38 old, he finally decided that it was time to retire.
After he had just officially retired, he claimed that he wanted to play again.  However, Green Bay had already signed in their new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.  So he then played for the New York Jets in 2008, then switched again to play for the Minnesota Vikings (which are one of the Packers' main rivals) for the 2009 and 2010 season.  After that, he retired for real.
Over all, Brett Favre was a Green Bay Packers Legend who made the Packers a better team.

Packers Introduction

The Green Bay Packers are a professional football team in the National Football League(NFL). They were founded in 1919 by Earl "Curly" Lambeau. Their home stadium is Lambeau Field and is home of the famous "Lambeau Leap," which is a tradition of jumping into the crowd after a touchdown.  The Packers are rivals with the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions, and the Minnesota Vikings. Currently, the Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States.
The Green Bay Packers won the first Super Bowl in 1967, and have also won Super Bowls in the years of 1968, 1997, and 2011, which was the most recent one.
The Packers' original colors were navy blue and gold, but in the 1950's they changed to hunter's green and gold.  In the early days, the Packers were sometimes known as the "Bays" or the "Blues," and even Curly Lambeau had thought of changing their name from the "Packers" to the "Blues" in the 1920's.
Their current head coach is Mike McCarthy, who has been head coach since 2006.  In 1999, he was the Green Bay Packer's quarterback coach.
Overall, the Packers are a very strong young team.  They are currently the only undefeated team in the NFL, with a record of 11-0.
